famous for its shelling and its dedication to environmental
conservation. This book covers the history from early times, the
pioneers, "Ding" Darling and the refuge, the controversial building of
the causeway, and city incorporation which stopped massive development.
The book also deals with the cattle industry at Punta Rassa. There are
numerous old photos and references.
